Recent industry coverage in a single week spanned hospitals, rail transit, business aviation, and superyachts, and market forecasts now project human-centric lighting as a multi-tens-of-billions market within the decade. The pattern is clear: circadian design is becoming a standard expectation wherever people spend long hours under electric light.

Here is where it delivers real value in each vertical — and what actually needs to be specified.

Healthcare and Senior Living

The strongest evidence base in the field. Patients recover in rooms where daylight access is limited, and night-shift care disrupts staff rhythms. Circadian systems address both:

  • High-melanopic daytime light in patient rooms and common areas supports day-night orientation — with documented benefits for sleep quality and reduced agitation in dementia care.

  • Strict low-melanopic night lighting in corridors and nurse stations lets staff work without pushing patients' (or their own) body clocks toward daytime.
